Albert D. Koennecke, 79, of Cazenovia, died Tuesday. A native of Cazenovia, Al was a graduate of Cazenovia High School. He was a dairy farmer and in 1983 became an agent for Farm Family Ins. Co. Al was a communicant of St. James Church in Cazenovia where he was a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister. He was the past president of the Cazenovia School Board, a director and past president for the Madison County Farm Bureau and a 4-H leader. His son Kurt predeceased him in 1979. Surviving are his wife Ruth Anne; his children, Marlene Lentz of GA; Martin (Susan) of Cazenovia, Kevin (Kim) of Cazenovia, Annelise O'Hara (Tom) of Elmira, Kristina Nunez (Jose') of Cazenovia, Laura (Jim Moore) of Niskayuna, Carl (Mandy) of Delmar, Sheryl Davis (Charles) of Syracuse; his brothers Fritz and Walter both of Cazenovia; his sisters, Ellen Mortensen of AZ, Luise Stewart of Chittenango, Olinda Roxbury of TX, Joanne Lamb of Marcellus; 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 Monday at St. James Church, 6 Green Street in Cazenovia. The Rite of Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery.
