Anson Irving "Irv" Nourse, age 90, of Erieville, New York passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1935, and lived a life marked by service, hard work, and devotion to the people he loved.
After proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) during the Korean War, Irv returned home to build a life rooted in family and community. He had a deep love for working the land, often found tending to his gardens or riding his beloved John Deere tractor. His green thumb brought beauty and bounty to those around him, and his quiet determination was an inspiration to all who knew him.
Irv's greatest joy was his family. Whether gathered for Sunday dinners, holiday celebrations, or quiet afternoons on the porch, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His warmth, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Deanne Nourse; his children, Craig (Kelly) Nourse, Mark (Stacia) Nourse, Julie (David) Deyo, and Tammy Barrett. He was known as Popsie to his grandchildren; Christopher (Vivian) Nourse, Lindsey (Alex) Kugler, Michael (Cassandra) Nourse, Kimber Nourse, Patrick Nourse, and Emily Deyo. Three great grandchildren Eloise and Penelope Nourse and Sophia Kugler. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Nourse, his parents Irving and Marion Nourse, and siblings Shirley Hirt, Richard Nourse, and Judy Brown.
A quiet graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Erieville Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cazenovia American Legion Post #88, 26 Chenango St., Cazenovia, NY 13035 or to the Erieville Evergreen Cemetery Association, 2619 Erieville Rd., Erieville, NY 13061. The legacy Irv or "Popsie" leaves is one of love, loyalty, and hard work. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
