Barbara G. “Barb” Monson, 100, of Manlius, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 22, 2026. Barb was born in Oneonta, NY, a daughter to the late, Scott E. and Florence P. Gage, and resided in Eastwood and Fabius before moving to Manlius in 2011. Barbara graduated from Providence Bible Institute in 1948 and Oneonta State Teachers College in 1951. She served in Peru for a year as a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Then, she was an elementary school teacher in Morris, NY, before becoming a homemaker. Barbara was a member of Eastern Hill Bible Church since 1966. She participated in the Christian Women’s Club and Aglow International organizations. Barbara loved Jesus and was married for 68 years to Jack Monson. Barbara is known for her bright blue eyes, joyful smile, hospitality, and remembering birthdays. A special thank you to her caregivers who showered her with love and care for many years!

       In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John A. “Jack” Monson, her brother, Laurence Gage of Morris, NY, and her sister, Beatrice Merzig of Oneonta. Barbara is survived by her children, Betsy (Rick) Chiesa of Orlando, FL, Marilyn (Karl) Anderson of Chittenango, Ruth (Sean) Day of Clay and Ronald Monson of Ballston Lake; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, as well as, several nieces and nephews.

       A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Eastern Hills Bible Church, 8277 Cazenovia Road, Manlius, NY 13104. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia after the service.
