Bernie Waite of Kirkville, died Monday at his home. Bernie retired from OCRRA on June 1, 2001. He also was a freight driver and freight salesman in the Syracuse area. He is predeceased by his sisters, Marguerite Lamorder (1993) and Ginger Sue Waite (1962). Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Shirley of Syracuse; his very dear friend and companion, Tekla Dorgan of Kirkville; his daughter, Brenda Watkins (Terry) of Syracuse; his son, Mark (Colleen) Waite of Marcellus; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his siblings, Ronald (Sharon) Waite of Memphis, Ernest (Val) Waite of Erieville, Gerald (Laurie) Waite of Oneida, Joanie "Elana" (David) Doty of Syracuse, Janice (Edward) Walters of DeRuyter, Martha Heffernan of Manlius, Trudy Zdybel of Cazenovia; his step mother, Dorothy Waite Dennin of Cazenovia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday at the Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Road Cazenovia. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens in DeWitt.
