Betty Hammond, 72, of Jamesville, New York, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Born in Newton, Massachusetts, a daughter to the late, George and LaVelle Brinson, Betty graduated from Newton-Welsley Senior High School and attended Boston College. She had been a receptionist at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Manlius. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Randall Hammond; a son, Brian Hammond, her sister, Helen Scanlon and by a brother, Edward Brinson. She is survived by two daughters, Jill (James) Thomas and Laurel Hammond; a sister, Linda Deagle and by a granddaughter, Reagan Thomas. Memorial services are 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Church of the Nativity at Immaculate Conception Pompey, 7386 Academy St., Pompey, NY.
