Daniel I. Conway, 79, of Canastota, passed away Saturday, February 7 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was predeceased by Shirley Jean (Lonergon) Conway, his wife of 51 years and the love of his life. Daniel was the youngest son of Myrtle (Woolsey) and Milton R. Conway. Raised in Syracuse with his five brothers and two sisters, he was known by everyone as 'Uncle Dan'. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a good story to tell and he opened his home and heart to animals of all kinds, including many rescue dogs. He was employed as a mover by Stickley Furniture. Daniel is survived by a long list of loving nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to Tait Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
