George W. Veeder, 74, of Cazenovia died Friday at University Hospital. George was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War and retired from 174th Air National Guard after 26 years of combined service. After his retirement from the military, George worked in Maintenance for the Cazenovia, Canastota, Chittenango and Morrisville-Eaton School Districts. He is a member of American Legion Post # 88 and the 173rd Robin Hoods Assault Helicopter Company. Surviving are his wife, Betty; his children, Mindra (C.V.) Abdallah of Pompey Hollow, Howard (Paulina) of Baton Rouge, LA, Caroline (Jim) Tripoli of Pittsburgh, PA, George L. "Bill" (Shannon) of Athens, GA; his sister, Ruth (Les) Yates of Gloversville; his brothers, John (Barb) of Ava, Bruce (Yvonne) of Gloversville and Brian of Gloversville; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Calling hours will be held on Friday form 10-12 with a service to follow. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
