With the heaviest hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Hope Flanagan McGee, 27, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, outside of Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on June 3rd, 1999, in New Hartford, New York, to Lorraine and Bernard McGee, and raised in Cazenovia, New York. She was a 2017 graduate of Cazenovia High School and part of the Cazenovia Rowing Club as well as the Cazenovia HS Drama Club. Hope squeezed an extraordinary amount of life, adventure, and warmth into her 27 years.

       From an early age, Hope embraced the outdoors and community. She spent her childhood summers at Camp Iroquois in Manlius, taking sailing lessons at the Cazenovia Yacht Club, and discovering a passion for rowing on Cazenovia Lake. While attending Cazenovia High School, she joined the crew of the drama club, mastering performance and stage lighting—a talent she continued to share with community drama centers across Syracuse.

       Hope’s boundless creativity touched every facet of her life. She was an accomplished artist who lived in Michigan as a tattoo artist before bringing her talents to New York City. Later, moving to Las Vegas, she channeled her courage and deep care for others into becoming an EMT with AMR. Whether she was creating music, designing her own tattoos, attending musicals, snowboarding, or crafting intricate trinkets, Hope lived life in full color.

       Unapologetically herself, Hope was bold, courageous, funny, and loud, with an infectious energy balanced by immense love and gentleness. She was always ready for an adventure, traveling to five countries and countless states across the nation. She never wasted a second. Above all, her heart belonged to her loved ones and her cherished pets, whom she loved beyond measure.

       Hope is survived by her loving father, Bernard; her four siblings, Brian, Pete, Jack, and Emily; as well as her beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine, who passed away on July 1, 2026.

       Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia, NY 13035. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 11 a.m., at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 6 Green Street in Cazenovia, NY–where Hope received her First Communion and Confirmation–with burial following immediately at St. James Cemetery, 4571-4709 Lincklaen Road in Cazenovia.
