Hunter Matthew Kowaleski, 26, of Erieville passed away Monday, August 25, 2025. He was born in Rochester on July 11, 1999 to Matthew and Jackie Kowaleski and was a graduate of Cazenovia High School in 2017 where he was a member of their football, basketball and baseball teams. Hunter earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from S.U.N.Y. Morrisville and a member of their basketball team. He was currently employed as a Campus Safety Officer at Colgate University. Hunter was known for his strong work ethic, generosity and for having a huge heart. He was a fan of the NY Yankees, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. Hunter enjoyed golf, boating, fishing, loved animals, cooking and Jeeps.
He is survived by his parents, Matthew and Jaimie Kowaleski of Erieville; his mother, Jackie Padden Kowaleski of Syracuse; his brothers, Gage Kowaleski of Florida and Luke Becker of Syracuse; paternal grandparents, Mark and Christine Kowaleski of Syracuse; maternal grandmother, Anita (Paul Gilgallon) Robinson of Canastota; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Shultz of Syracuse, Marta (Jim Nagy) of Minoa, Adam (Brittanie Hayes) Kowaleski of Syracuse, Evan (Danielle) Robinson of Chittenango, Christina Robinson of Liverpool, Dawn (Fred) Padden Mohr of Rochester and Beverly (Will) Egloff of Liverpool; several cousins and by his dog, Levi. Hunter was predeceased by his grandmother, Lisa Davis and his maternal grandparents, John and Sandra Padden.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025 with services to follow at Michael E. Brown Funeral Services, 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia.
