Jean C. Omans, 93, of Erieville, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born January 27, 1929 in Oneida to Clarence and Gwendolyn Thurston and was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley High School in 1946. Jean enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served her country for six years until her honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 1957. Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She is survived by her children, Heidi Grevelding, Roxy Carley, Craig Omans and Twila Behringer; her sister, Clarenal Koba; her grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany, Nathan and Elizabeth; great grandsons, Jacob, Patrick, Austin, Madison and Keagan as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Omans; her sisters, Laura Young and Christine Staudt and by her grandson, Jonathan Carley. Services are private, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to the Erieville Fire Department, P.O. Box D, Erieville, NY 13061.
