John Karl Millett, 84, of New Woodstock, NY passed away Thursday September 17, 2026. John grew up in Manlius, NY, though he spent five years of his childhood in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1960. John worked for General Electric and Martin Marietta as a systems analyst until retirement.

       In his younger years, John had many interests. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, sports leagues, and fishing. In addition to his hobbies, John built his own house where the family still gathers today. When he entered retirement John and his wife, Mary, took up golfing. They became very active in golf leagues. Not one to sit still, John also started his own landscaping business in his retirement. He was often found driving his mower around his property for fun. He also had a love of dogs and especially loved golden retrievers.

       John was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Beatrice (Balch) Millett; his brother, Jerry (Celia) Millett and his grandson Keegan Millett.

       He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Mary, as well as his three children, Cindy (David) Langtry, Heather (Stuart) Mierke, and Kristopher (Diana) Millett. He had many grandchildren, Morgan (Luke) Randall, Katlyn Mierke, Zachary (Alexa) Langtry, Tanner (Rachel Case) Langtry, and Olivia, Sean, Elliott, Jackson and Cooper Millett, as well as great grandkids, William and Roscoe Randall and Wren Langtry. John also leaves behind his beloved golden retriever, Maddie.
