John Stacy, 69, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away Sunday, August 21st after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Robert and Helen Stacy in 1947 in Orange, New Jersey and grew up in Oswego, New York. John was a graduate of Kimball Union Academy where he enjoyed being a part of their ski team as a downhill racer. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University School of Packaging. John served honorably in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. John married Sharron Lemon on November 19, 1968 and they have been part of the Ann Arbor community since their marriage. He enjoyed working in the field of medical devices, specifically for Pall Life Sciences (Gelman Sciences) as a Senior Corporate Engineer for many years. John was currently a Planner and Scheduler at John Manville, Inc. in Waterville, Ohio. John had a life-long love of golf and played on several leagues and tournaments with his friends and co-workers. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife on vacations where they visited some of the most beautiful places in the world. He was an avid reader and enjoyed conversing about the books he read. John was quick to volunteer to raise funds for the American Heart Association and as a part of the "Training to End Stroke" team where he proudly finished a marathon in 2005. He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Stacy. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharron Lemon Stacy of Ann Arbor, MI; his mother, Helen E. Stacy of Cazenovia, NY; two sisters, Patricia S. Healey of Cape Cod, MA and Judith S. Brown of Manlius, NY; a niece, Stacy Brown Lee of Hailey, ID; two nephews, Christopher Brown of Hailey, ID and Dana Brown of Georgetown, NY. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Mill St., Cazenovia followed by a reception at the Cazenovia Club.
