Kenneth F. Gates Jr. (aka Gatec), 73, of Fenner, NY passed away August 10 at Oneida City Hospital. Born in Chittenango, he lived his life in Perryville and Fenner. He served in the Army and spent time in Germany. He loved SU football and basketball, the Yankees, and NY Giants. He had raced cars at ESTA, rode with the Wacky Rider Snowmobile club, and owned GateC's Tavern. He worked as a carpet installer for many years. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bonnie; daughters, Annette Rivenburgh, Jill Joyce and Amy Lee Gates; and son, Chester Gates. He is predeceased by his son, Kenneth Gates III. He leaves 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Per his request, there was no memorial service; however, family and friends got together at Sullivan Park for a celebration of his life.
