Kenneth G. Vaas, 78, of Cazenovia, died Wednesday at his home. He was a graduate of Cazenovia High School. Ken was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cherry Valley Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of American Legion Post #88. Ken was owner/ operator of Ken Vaas Excavation in New Woodstock. He was predeceased by his wife Louise. Surviving are his children, Sue Harmon (Jerry) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Belinda Chen (Michael) of Williamsburg, VA and Tammi Hill (Rick) of Manlius; his sister, Marie "Josie" Corbin of Semour, CT; his grandsons, Richard and Ryan Stang of Atlanta, GA, Kevin and Scott Harmon of Bowling Green, KY; two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at the Federated Church of New Woodstock. Spring burial will be in New Woodstock Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Tait Funeral Home, Inc., 2333 Fenner Road in Cazenovia. Contributions may be made to the New Woodstock Fire Department.
