Mary Lynn “Lynn” Callahan, 65, of Manlius, New York passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 8, 2026, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by loving family and friends.

       Lynn was born in Teaneck, New Jersey to Mary Lou and Forrest Alan Thompson and spent most of her life in Manlius. She was a graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Class of ’79 and attended S.U.N.Y. Morrisville. Lynn married Tom Callahan on Valentine’s Day in 1993, and together they shared many wonderful years filled with love and cherished memories.

       A woman of deep faith, Lynn had a kind heart and a generous spirit. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially horses. She spent many happy years caring for and riding them. Lynn was active in dressage and carriage driving competitions. Her passion for horses brought her great joy and lifelong friendships.

       She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Callahan; her mother, Mary Lou Thompson; her father, Forrest Alan Thompson; her sister, Lisa (Robert) Poznar; her brother, Scott (Julie) Thompson; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Callahan; her stepson, Sean Callahan as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly. Lynn was preceded in death by her stepson, Chris Callahan.

       Private graveside services will be at the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynn’s memory to The Haven at Skanda, 4000 Mosely Road, Cazenovia, NY 13035 a nonprofit farm animal sanctuary or to a local animal shelter.

       Lynn’s faith guided her throughout her life, and her family takes comfort knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by the love of the Lord she cherished so deeply.
