Mabel C. (Herb) Darrow, 87 of Deland Florida died peacefully at her home on January 2, 2013. She was born in East Syracuse and was a long time resident of Cazenovia, New York. Mabel was a graduate of Nottingham High School. In her early years was employed by Syracuse University and USF&G Insurance. She retired from Grand Union in Cazenovia. Mabel was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. During WW ll she was a nurse's aide volunteer in Syracuse hospitals. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Frank P. Darrow in 1988. Surviving are her son Gary Darrow and wife Carole of Marlborough, MA; Daughter Tina Aurience of Deland, Florida; granddaughters Lea (Darrow) Oppedisano and husband Frank, Heather (Darrow) Ferrante and husband Todd, Christina Aurience, grandson's Kyle Darrow and wife Christina, Chad Sorci, Travis Sorci, James Aurience; Great-grandchildren, Sophia, Frankie, Kacey, Aiden, and Ava. A spring memorial service and calling hours will be held at The Tait Funeral Home in Cazenovia. In lieu of flower contributions can be made to the American Breast Cancer Society.
