Melvin G. Sherman, 87, of Sarasota, Florida and Cazenovia, New York, passed away Sunday at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. He was born in Laurelton, Long Island, a son to the late Gumtow and Hazel Sherman. Mel was a photo engraver and retired from Wilbar Photo Engravers in Hartford, CT. He enjoyed playing tennis, golf and his beloved dog, Fluffy. Melvin is survived by his wife, Margaret Kuper Sherman of Cazenovia; three children, Guy Sherman, Greg Sherman and JoDonna Sherman all of Charlotte, NC.; two step sons, Ian Kuper of Manlius and Dan (Mary Margaret) Kuper of Cazenovia; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren. There are no calling hours. Memorial services are private. Contributions in memory of Mr. Sherman may be made to Crouse Community Center, Activities Fund, 101 South St., Morrisville, NY 13408.
