Ronald L. Hopkins, 73, of Cazenovia, passed away Wednesday at home with his loving family at his side. Ron was a skilled meat cutter and was employed at the former Smith's of Cazenovia for 20 years, and later employed with the Price Chopper for 13 years in Western Lights until the time of his death. Ron attended the East Syracuse High School with the Class of 1958. He was a devoted member and a trustee of the Cazenovia Village Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sylvia; four sons Kevin (Patricia) Hopkins, Douglas (Ann) Hopkins, Christopher Hopkins, and Jeffrey Hopkins; sisters Dorothy Mulcahey, Eleanor Caza, Donna Schaffner; brothers Carl and Gary; and eleven grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Cazenovia Village Baptist Church. Calling Hours will be Saturday from 6-8 pm at the Tait Funeral Home, 2333 Fenner Road, Cazenovia. Ron was a devoted husband and father who was funny and kind, loved to hunt and fish, and he shared HIS good nature with all who were acquainted with him. We will miss you until we meet again.
