Sharon Elaine (Goodfellow) Walters, 80, of Cazenovia passed away peacefully Friday, May 8, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Sharon was born September 15, 1945 in Syracuse, New York to Donald and Grace Goodfellow of Cazenovia. She was a 1963 graduate of Cazenovia High School and a 1964 graduate of Syracuse Barber and Beauty School. Sharon was a beautician for many years. She was also employed with the Cazenovia IGA Grocery Store, the Old Mill Restaurant and the Cazenovia Country Club.
Sharon was an avid bowler with the Cazenovia Bowling Alley for many years. She was a member of the Purple Hats Club and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her three daughters, Michele Riedl, Heather Szlamczynski and Susan (Tim) Marshall all of New Woodstock; one sister, Bonnie Monroe of Cazenovia; two brothers, Herb Goodfellow of Fayetteville and James Goodfellow of Fenner; her grandchildren, Brad O’Brien of Florida, Joseph Szlamczynski of New Woodstock, Ryan (Lizzie) Marshall of New Woodstock, Alex (Cassie) Szlamczynski of Tully, Shali (Rob) Ashlaw of Long Island, Cory (Amber) Marshall of New Woodstock, Nicholas (Angela) Szlamczynski of Ohio, Kayla (Chris) O’Brien of Lincklaen, Shawn Szlamczynski of Nelson and Riley Fitzsimmons of New Woodstock; five great grandchildren, Kinley, Colby, Sophie, Bowen and Nolan; her niece Darlene Norris of Cazenovia as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas E. Walters on August 12, 2024; her siblings, Pearl Norris, Barbara Murdock, Donaldleen Albanese, Evelyn Taylor, Patricia Goodfellow, Donald Goodfellow, Jr., Ronald Goodfellow and William Goodfellow.
There are no calling hours, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions in Sharon’s memory may be made to CAVAC, 106 Nelson St., Cazenovia, NY 13035. Condolences for the Walters family may be shared at www.michaelebrownfuneralservices.com.
