Sybil Ridings Oakes, 73, of Skaneateles, New York passed peacefully onJune 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. She was born December 24,1952. Sybil was the beloved daughter of David A.A. Ridings and the late Nancy B. Ridings of Syracuse, New York.

       In addition to her father, Sybil is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Allison Oakes and Andrew Teller of Syracuse, grandson, Miles Teller; sisters, Nancy Andrepont of Beaufort, SC, Cynthia Rinaldi and her husband, Thomas of Jim Thorpe, PA and Sara Morrow of Skaneateles, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

       Sybil attended Abbott in Andover MA, and graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and shortly thereafter settled in Skaneateles. She had been employed for many years at Marquardt Services in Cazenovia, New York. Sybil had a deep love for gardening, sailing, skiing, and reading. She knew how to light up a room with her sense of humor and laugh. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

       In keeping with her wishes, Sybil will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Cazenovia, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Baltimore Woods Nature Center, P.O.
