Thomas S. Barden, 80, of Pompey Center and Cazenovia died December 29 after an all-too-brief battle with cancer. The son of Dennis and Laura Quirk Barden of blessed memory, Tom's life is celebrated by his wife of 58 years, Beverly (nee Nix), his daughter, Lauri (Fred) Brown, and his sons Dennis (Marlon) and Thomas (Bridget Reilly). He will be lovingly remembered by his grand-children Tracy Brown (Tom) McMenamy, Scott Brown, Taylor Barden, Sarah Barden, and Matthew Barden; great-grandchildren Tommy McMenamy, Jocelyn McMenamy, and Noah Brown; and his nieces and nephews in the Sanson and Corbeille families. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann (Michael) Sanson, and sister-in-law, Patricia Nix Corbeille. Tom Barden was a hard-working farmer; a loyal and loving husband; a great dad and father-in-law; a proud patriarch; a steadfast friend; and an active and informed Irish-American citizen. It was an honor just to know him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at the St. James Church, 6 Green Street, Cazenovia.
