Vera S. McLaughlin, 88, of Cazenovia, passed away Saturday evening at Oneida Healthcare following a brief illness. She was born in Scotia, New York and resided in Cazenovia for most of her life. Vera graduated from the University of Buffalo and was a Pharmacist with Theobald & Hole for over 45 years. As an active member of the community, Vera was a charter member of C.A.V.A.C. where she volunteered as a first responder and as a dispatcher. She also volunteered at Caz Cares and at Oneida Healthcare. She was a member of the Cazenovia Golf Club, the Cazenovia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cazenovia, where she was active with the Alice Edwards Circle. She enjoyed spending her summers at Lake George. Vera was predeceased by her husband, David L. McLaughlin, who died in 1997. She is survived by her four children, Steven (Sue) McLaughlin of Bolton Landing, NY, Jeri McLaughlin of Cazenovia, Susan (Edmund) Daley of Eugene, OR and Richard (Kelley) McLaughlin of Cazenovia; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. There are no funeral services, burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia. Contributions in memory of Mrs. McLaughlin may be made to C.A.V.A.C., P.O.
